What is the 20/20 and who needs it?
The 20/20 is a phono preamp that comes in one compact chassis, there are two identical circuit boards. One for the RIGHT channel and one for the LEFT channel. Each has it’s own shielded compartment and each has it’s own power supply. Thus it is truly a DUAL MONO implementation of a stereo phono preamp.
It performs beautifully and brings pleasure to music lovers all over the world. The design has proven to be rock solid with long-term stability and reliability.

The Linear Power Supply for 20/20 is highly effective and simple. It offers rock-solid performance, stability, and reliability. There are no active voltage regulators or switching noise to interfere. Instead, it provides a lower noise floor and a more effortless presentation.

I finally had a chance to audition the 20/20 at home, with my Avid Sequel/Dynavector 507/Soundsmith Zephyr (high output moving iron cartridge) and was gob-smacked with its performance. It is coherent, dimensional, dynamic as heck, and has awesome timbral accuracy and detail.

I picked up a 20/20 just to audition and fell in love. It’s resolution and clarity are a continuing source of complete musical satisfaction. It showed my xxx Special Edition to be quite inferior.

Loading Adjustments
There are five available loading settings. Loading is set using the supplied, gold-plated shunts. There is a load setting header block for each channel. Position the shunt to the desired loading value. Be sure to set the loading of each board to the same value.
